A baby monitor, also known as a baby alarm, is a system used to remotely listen to sounds made by an infant.
One device (iPhone or iPod), equipped with a microphone, is placed near the child and the other device with a speaker, is carried by, or near to, the person caring for the infant.
This app has many benefits; foremost is the safety of the child, which can be closely monitored with this device. Furthermore, parents an caregivers do not want to miss any milestones in the childs life. Infants and young children can often be heard over a baby monitor in crib talk, in which they talk to themselves. This is a normal part of practicing their language skills, and a very cute and happy moment for any caregiver.
Probable one of the major benefits of this software is that the monitor data will be a little more private than regular "radio wave" based monitors.

Looking for an easy to setup work out of the box app. This isnt it. I can make it beep, bit it wont transmit/receive sound.
I bought this app on my iPhone then on my wifes. I assumed that having them both open, connected to wifi and on the same channel would make it work however thats not the case. DOES NOT WORK!!!
Downloaded app on iPhone iOS 5 and iPad and only got a screen with no functionality.
After turning off Bluetooth on both devices, it worked as described.
This app is terrible. Loses connection in the middle of the night and you have no idea you are no longer monitoring. Says it uses wifi or Bluetooth but there is no instruction for pairing and I emailed the developer and he never got back.
